It Begins With Gratitude Day
The 30th Anniversary celebration begins where so much of the school’s story has always lived: with families showing up for one another.
On Saturday, August 15 at 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, the NCS community will gather for Gratitude Day, a long-running tradition where families, teachers, students, and staff help prepare the campus before the first day of school.
Together, the community will pull weeds, plant flowers, clean classrooms, make repairs, and care for the place that has held generations of students.
Gratitude Day reflects the spirit of Novato Charter School: a school built and sustained by the people who care for it.
A Year of Stories
Throughout the 2026–27 school year, we will share stories organized around four themes that reflect the heart of Novato Charter School and public Waldorf education.
Rooted
A foundation of belonging.
Stories of community, relationships, place, and the roots that help children grow.
Rhythm
A predictable path for learning.
Stories of daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms that create a sense of order, confidence, and belonging.
Wonder
Love of learning begins here.
Stories of imagination, curiosity, creativity, nature, and the moments that awaken lifelong learning.
Whole
Connecting head, heart, and hands.
Stories of educating the full human being through academics, art, movement, relationships, and meaningful work.
